About Shepherd's Hand
Shepherd's Hand Ministry is a 501©3 non-profit organization. Located in Hickory, North Carolina, Shepherd's hand is dedicated to serving the community as Christ has instructed us to do.

Shepherd’s Hand started with Glenda McCorkle meeting the needs of people that crossed her path. Some are friends and neighbors. Others are friends of friends while the rest are people in the community who needed a hand. Early on, God led Glenda to give people a hand-up, but not a handout. A hand-up is helping in their time of need versus a handout which is receiving instead of trying. Glenda has a God-given ability to discern the needs of those she helps.

The blessings to the community and Glenda grew beyond her resource capacity. Glenda founded Shepherd’s Hand to be the helping hand of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd. As donations came in, Glenda's ability to serve and give increased while the blessings to the community increased as well.
Shepherd’s Hand has grown to include a volunteer board of directors, volunteer workers, as well as Glenda’s visionary leadership to help people. Shepherd's Hand Ministries' financial affairs are now handled by a volunteer CPA. The donations and communications are now based on an online platform to increase communication and involvement significantly.

Our focus is now on several key ministries. SOLO stands for Saving Our Loved Ones. In this initiative, we build relationships with children and the elderly who desperately need Godly love and fellowship. This includes a children's ministry of fun, love, and Biblical teaching on scheduled Saturdays as well as giving gifts and spending time with elderly folks at senior centers and homes.

Shepherd’s Hand is a fun, loving place to serve and be served. Everyone benefits from God’s blessings at each Shepherd’s Hand event, and with each gift and relationship. In God’s Kingdom, everyone benefits. “He who waters, will himself be watered.” and “When God gives the increase, He adds no sorrow to it.” Shepherd’s Hand is a great place to give to and receive from because God is with us!
Our Mission
“Bring hope to the hopeless, to give help to the helpless.”
Jeremiah 29:11
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
Matthew 25:40
By the guidance and power of God’s Holy Spirit, we will enlist others who are like-minded to use our hands as He used His to build His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven!
